Lessons
1. obedience inside a relationship with God refers to the relational obligations needed to maintain that relationship. (Adam, Abraham, the disciples, Christians).
2. Abraham’s friendship and faith in God had to do with his trust and obedience to His way, as especially seen in leaving his family and country and in offering up his son as a sacrifice. (Hebrews 11:8-10, 17-19)
3. Love for God has to do with obeying His commands (e.g. limitless forgiveness, monogamous relationships, Christian generosity, embraced humility – see John 14:21-24)
